All of my knives are made from high carbon steel. Carbon steel will rust and corrode with improper care. Always dry off knives after use. If storing, wipe mineral oil onto the blades. Carbon steel will develop a natural patina on the blade over time, for some this look is desirable and does not affect cutting performance, any discoloring on the blade can be cleaned off with a mild abrasive.
